Wildlife education
with a twist!
Welcome to Gone Buggo!
We are a multi-platform environmental education social enterprise. We're also painfully aware that that is a ridiculously long way to refer to what we do, but we've accidentally created an entirely new hybrid offering which doesn't fit well into any existing category, so for now it's what we've got.
What do we do?
We offer an all-ages window into environmental education, which is designed in such a way that we can deliver meaningful engagement with our content on a number of levels. Carefully crafted brick-built dioramas provide a unique and interesting backdrop for close up, live animal photography. Having the opportunity to view rare and misunderstood animals up close helps to overcome fear and disgust. Supporting information is offered as a means to deepen our understanding of creatures who often don't receive much exposure, and increase interest in the individuals themselves but also their close relatives. Then, deeper discussions can be had about the ecological significance of these poorly represented smaller creatures, leading into wider and more fascinating discussions about complex relationships between species and eventually broader environmental science.

What's Happening?
Over the Summer School Holidays, we will be offering a unique view into the environments that call Far North Queensland home. An hour long evening show, designed to complement any and all environmental adventures in the Wet Tropics.

The show will be on in the Port Douglas Marina, at the Forever Reef facility, with profits from ticket sales going towards the Forever Reef for their important conservation work.

So what goes where?

Facebook has all posted photos sorted into folders by subject type, but no information
-
Tiktok, Lemon8, and Rednote mostly get short-form videos about photo subjects or the process
-
Youtube gets short-form videos, but also behind the scenes videos and longer content
-
The "Stuck in the car with Steve" podcast explores some philosophy behind the work
-

In-person shows, events, and school incursions, are all different, but offer an opportunity for a deep dive into environmental education and the wonders of the natural world.
